About Real Rescues

Real Rescues is a free, independent global directory of legitimate animal shelters, animal rescue organisations, wildlife sanctuaries, and wildlife rehabilitation centres. Our mission is simple: connect people who want to help animals with organisations that are genuinely doing the work.

Every listing on Real Rescues has been manually verified against at least one official source — a national charity register, a government animal welfare database, or a recognised third-party evaluator such as Charity Navigator, GuideStar, or the RSPCA. We display each organisation’s charity registration number so you can check it independently.

We cover organisations in 22 countries so far and are always adding more. If you run a verified shelter or rescue and want to be listed, use the Submit button above. If you believe a listed organisation is a scam, please contact us with evidence.
