Singapore

Singapore's animal welfare groups rescue, treat and rehome abandoned pets and community animals, run sterilisation programmes for community cats and dogs, investigate cruelty, and educate the public about responsible pet ownership. Many operate from small shelters or rely mainly on networks of fosterers, because space in the city-state is limited. Genuine organisations are usually registered as societies or charities, and registered charities are listed on the Commissioner of Charities' Charity Portal; those with Institution of a Public Character (IPC) status can issue tax-deductible receipts. Each Singapore organisation on Real Rescues has been checked against its official website and registration before being added.
