LUNI Singapore

LUNI Singapore (Love the Unwanted, Neglected & Ill-Treated) is a registered non-profit, LUNI Singapore Limited, that has worked to improve the lives of Singapore's community cats since 2018. It is run by volunteers and organises its work around four pillars: community cat feeding, trap-neuter-return (TNR), fostering and rehoming, and medical care.

Singapore has an estimated 50,000 homeless cats. LUNI says it supports more than 20 community feeders who between them feed around 800 cats every night, and that it costs about SGD 20 to feed one cat for a month. Its TNR programme traps unsterilised cats, has them sterilised at partner vets for about SGD 80 each and returns them to their neighbourhood; LUNI reports that the programme helped 218 cats in 2024.

Rescued cats and kittens go to volunteer fosterers, who care for them from rescue all the way to adoption, often for six months or more. LUNI says its fostering programme saves more than 260 cats and kittens a year. Adopters must be at least 21 (or have a parent or guardian co-sign) and must mesh windows and balconies before taking a cat home.

LUNI is one of the partner animal welfare groups of the Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) of Singapore's National Parks Board and helps AVS with rehoming. You can volunteer, foster, adopt, donate cat food through its partner shops, or give money through its official GiveAsia page.
