Happy Doggo

Unclaimed
Happy Doggo is a Koh Samui-based animal rescue organisation on a mission to fix the global street dog problem for good. Founded in 2021 by Niall Harbison after he began feeding malnourished street dogs while jogging around the island, Happy Doggo has grown into one of Southeast Asia's most recognised dog rescue operations. Every day, the team feeds over 800 street dogs across Koh Samui. The organisation sterilises thousands of dogs per year — not just on Samui, but across Thailand and into Southeast Asia — with the goal of sterilising approximately 50,000 dogs annually. Dogs that can't survive on the street are brought to their sanctuary to recover, rehabilitate, and find forever homes in Thailand and abroad. Happy Doggo is a registered UK charity and US 501(c)(3) non-profit.

What Happy Doggo Does

Happy Doggo operates across three core pillars: feeding, sterilisation, and rescue. Their daily feeding programme covers over 800 street dogs on Koh Samui alone, with fresh, nutritionally balanced meals cooked on-site. Sterilisation is the organisation's highest-impact activity — they work with partner organisations across Thailand and Southeast Asia to prevent future generations of street dogs from suffering. Dogs with medical conditions or who simply cannot make it on the street are brought to their sanctuary to recuperate.

Tina's Hospital

Happy Doggo is currently constructing Tina's Hospital — a full-service veterinary hospital on Koh Samui named after one of the most beloved dogs they ever rescued. Designed by Animal Arts, an award-winning animal care architecture firm, Tina's Hospital will serve as the island's most advanced facility for sick and vulnerable street dogs.
