JFK Animal Rescue & Shelter was incorporated with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) in June 2021 and is led by its founder and CEO, Zufishan Anushay. Its shelter is at Kot Radha Krishan, off Raiwind Road on the edge of Lahore, with an office in Muslim Town.
The charity rescues abused, neglected, injured and sick street animals, mostly dogs, and has also taken in calves, donkeys and other animals. Rescued animals get veterinary treatment and rehabilitation, including behavioural work for animals traumatised by abuse, before being put up for adoption. JFK runs Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Release (TNVR) programmes, including rabies vaccination, as a humane alternative to dog culling, and gives awareness talks in schools and rural communities. It says it rehomed more than 155 animals in the past year.
JFK has worked with Punjab Police on animal welfare. It persuaded the force to stop putting down retired sniffer dogs and to rehome them with families instead, and it proposed the Police Animal Rescue Center (PARC) in Lahore, which handles cruelty cases and brings injured animals to the JFK shelter. In July 2025 Dawn reported that JFK alerted police to an Instagram user filmed abusing animals in Lahore and rescued the surviving animals.
JFK is tax-exempt under Pakistan's Income Tax Ordinance (section 2(36)(c)). You can adopt, report a cruelty case, volunteer or donate through its official website.
